Security at Toyota Belgium

Toyota Belgium is responsible for marketing the Japanese automobile leader in the Belgium/Luxembourg territory and also for distribution among 98 experienced dealers. Surveillance of the entire Belgian network is managed from the headquarters in Braine-l’Alleud. Securitas has already been Toyota Belgium’s partner for security and surveillance for 19 years.

Henri Dierickx is the General Administration Manager at Toyota Belgium and was there at the beginning of the close collaboration between Toyota Belgium and Securitas.

Henri Dierickx:

“We started working together in 1989, when we were still in Evere. There has been a great mutual trust right from the start. We realised right away that Securitas attached a great deal of importance to the sense of responsibility and the job done. The associates are particularly well motivated and have received training appropriate to what we ask of them”.

What services do Securitas provide for Toyota Belgium?

“Securitas provide surveillance of the main building at Braine-l’Alleud, as well as other sites. Security and surveillance are extremely important to us, because we have a stock of cars so that we can respond to our clients’ requests quickly. The agents monitor other Belgian sites from the headquarters at Braine-l’Alleud, using an effective network of cameras.”

Securitas has developed more innovative technology that they use for Toyota Belgium and other companies. The agent can actually remotely monitor and manage various sites that are fitted with a surveillance camera system. The surveillance camera images are retransmitted to them directly on a screen and they can take immediate action if something unexpected happens. The client can review or consult the images at any time. This system can be used in a large number of companies and looks set to have a promising future.

Has this monitoring and surveillance system already achieved results?

“Absolutely. Every day and night, weekends included, Securitas managers draw up a report that we can use to confirm that the system is working and to check its everyday usefulness. We see suspicious behaviour fairly regularly. For us, surveillance isn't a luxury; it's a necessity.”

Your collaboration with Securitas has developed year by year. You use several of their products and services, including the remote surveillance camera. How does that work?

“Some time ago, we actually signed a joint contract and we are very satisfied with it. Since then we have been benefiting from services such as technology, guarding and Front Desk assistance, for example. Recently, we handed over the management of the reception to Securitas Front Desk agents, twice a week. We would like to extend our collaboration with Securitas to other sites. This option is currently being looked at from a budgetary and operation point of view.”
