Iberomoldes in Portugal

The Iberomoldes Group is one of the largest groups in the world in the mould industry, currently with around 800 employees. It has been a client of the Securitas Mobile Guarding Service for 16 years. Its trust gives us the motivation to keep up with the new challenges we now face in terms of security.

At present, they supply the following three areas:

  • Engineering and product development (including prototyping, quick tools and control gauges)
  • Moulds for injection of thermoplastics and metallic alloys
  • Production of plastic components for the automobile sector, electronics sector, etc.;

These are three distinct areas that may be commercialized jointly or separately.

The headquarters are located in Marinha Grande, but the Group also includes operational centers in Sweden and China and has formed a joint venture in Brazil. At present, Iberomoldes exports 95 percent of its services/products to different clients that are leaders in their segments of the market. Iberomoldes was founded in 1975 by Henrique Neto and Joaquim Menezes as a company for the commercialization of plastic moulds. Guided by a strong spirit of innovation, the company quickly gained the success that was a decisive factor in its growth by focusing on very demanding international clients, supplying high quality moulds and through very strict fulfillment of delivery dates.

The Iberomoldes Group has 12 companies within a radius of six kilometers whose security is very important, especially in the plastic industry, due to the greater fire hazard, but without neglecting the mould industry where this hazard is lesser.

“We are a professional Group in our areas and therefore it makes no sense for us to have our own security service. That is why we entrusted it, by means of outsourcing, to a specialist in the field,” said Joaquim Paulo an Executive Director of the Iberomoldes Group.

Joaquim Paulo also mentioned that Securitas has shown availability and capacity to adjust to the present requirements of the Iberomoldes Group and that it meets all the conditions to face the new challenges. He considers the existing relationship and dialogue to be positive, both locally and nationally.

“We do not like to change suppliers,” he commented. “We choose partners that will enable us to achieve a “win-win” solution that is based on flexibility because the life of organizations is based on change. That is a fact. We demand that our suppliers work with us as partners, that together we meet the challenges in each field, which is what we have had with Securitas.”
