Service and security at event center in Madrid

Located in Madrid, the IFEMA exhibition center has more than 4.5 million visitors per year and is considered one of the main event facilities in Europe.

For almost 30 years, the 200,000 square meters large IFEMA center has hosted more than 1,300 exhibitions, displaying a palette of hobbies, businesses and industries; art, tourism, fashion, health care, construction and much more.

Dark grey Securitas uniforms are since many years a natural part of IFEMA’s usual landscape, where more than 200 Securitas employees work. At some events and exhibitions, Securitas has provided simultaneously more than 350 security officers, like recently during the celebration of an important art exhibition, ARCO, that took place at the same time as Iberjoya and other four big IFEMA appointments. The flexibility and response capacity are two of the most important factors in servicing the center, as the security needs can be demanding.

The security officers are specialized depending on the different positions they man. One unit manages a central monitoring center; another one handles the metal detectors, including the last generation scanners. The common denominator, though, is service. In a public environment like IFEMA, good manners and a high level of service-mindedness are as important as vigilance, and after 15 years of servicing the Spanish exhibition center, there is no doubt that the Securitas officers knows that particular combination.
