A feeling of security at school
On Sveavägen in Stockholm, Sweden, in an old church from the 1930s, is Sweden's leading advertising and communications school: Berghs School of Communication. This is where tomorrow's creative writers and artists, market strategists, production managers and public relations experts are educated and take sought-after positions in the media world directly after graduation.
Each day, up to 500 people move through the 5000 square meter building. Students, teachers, employees, visitors and tenants. Up to 500 people per day, all of whom must have authorization to enter the school.
In order to ensure that people, as well as computers and printers are properly secured, Berghs School of Communication has been relying on Securitas since 1990.
"When we moved in 1997 from our old location in Münchenbryggeriet (the Munich Brewery), naturally we were going to take Securitas with us to Sveavägen," says Mats Lundquist, IT & Service Manager at Berghs.
Securitas provides Berghs with patrolling security staff, who work day and night to check authorization for the people on site. Bergh's also has an alarm system and entrance facilities that are included in the contract with Securitas. The tenants are also connected to the security system via the school.
"We have always been satisfied with Securitas and the service we have received. It is comforting to know, for example, that we do not need to worry about spare parts or updating our alarm system since this is included in our contract. We have had the same system for eleven years, which has obviously been updated, and it works as good as new!"
Each year, on a weekend at the end of May, Berghs hosts their annual end of the year exhibition, where as many as 2000 people are packed into the school. In order to display their final projects, students have often received expensive equipment sponsored by various media companies. So, it is extra important to have security on site.
"It has worked out really well, Securitas has been very helpful by keeping a watchful eye on things and providing a sense of security for everyone."
