Training opportunity in another Country!

| 3 October 2008

Are you ready for a new experience? The knowledge and experience of our people is the foundation of Securitas. The Melker Schörling Scholarship offers our people the opportunity to develop that knowledge and experience professionally.

The scholarship is open to frontline employees within Securitas and is offered annually to one or more employees subject to successful application.

Established in 1992, the Melker Schörling Scholarship was created when Melker Schörling left his position as President and Chief Executive Officer to become Chairman of the Board.

The purpose of the scholarship is to offer training opportunities within a specific area/topic in another country where Securitas operates. Anyone employed by Securitas is free to apply, but acceptance is typically granted to employees primarily working in “the front line” where international contacts in their daily work are limited.

Who can apply?

Anyone employed by Securitas is free to apply. To qualify, a candidate should have a proven job record of dedication and commitment for future ambitions within Securitas. For practical purposes, the applicant has to be able to communicate in English or in the language used in the country he/she wishes to visit.

Area /topic to study?

Applicants are invited to choose subjects themselves, within the security operation. This would allow the scholar to deepen their security knowledge and expertise and exploit their new knowledge and experience on return to their home office location.

The span of the scholarship period can range from a few days to an extended period depending on the nature of the area to study.

After the study visit, the scholar is required to make a written report, describing impressions and interesting matters from the study visit and which ideas/models he/she will bring back home.

Application

A written application in English made by the employee should include the following:

  • Complete name and business address
  • Employment history with the company
  • Language experience
  • Area /topic to study & country preference
  • What to benefit from the study

Applicants should submit their written application to their immediate supervisor before December 5, 2008.

After local processing, the application is passed on to the Country Presidents at the latest December 12, 2008, via the Branch Manager or Department Heads.

All applications are then forwarded by the Country President along with final recommendations to the CEO of Securitas at the latest on December 19, 2008.

The Board of Directors of Securitas makes the final decision of who will be the selected candidates at the first Board of Director’s meeting of the year.

The candidates will be informed at the latest by February  27, 2009. Scholarship activities take place some time between April and June.

Costs
